Safe Crisis Management for Staff Support Adults

This non-physical 1-day direct staff training provides the knowledge and tools necessary to empower and support adult individuals in your care by using a strength based and person centered approach to create and maintain a culture of care and safety. This workshop will cover understanding the immediacy of behavior as well as responding to behavior with skill building and de-escalation strategies. After-incident procedures will also be covered.

The training will be provided by Michelle Stagmer, M.A., M.Ed., BCBA of the Cornerstone Agency of PA. Michelle is also an Associate Trainer for JKM Training, Inc.

Training Objectives:

  • Identify and understand the rationale for SCM Training

  • Better understand individuals in your care with a conceptual model grounded in person centered practices

  • Identify and understand context for the occurrences of behaviors of concern

  • Understand responding to behaviors of concern using universal principles and effective communication

  • Understand emergency protocols
