American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

The Safe Crisis Management training curriculum directly aligns with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) requirements in a myriad of ways including professional development training, positive behavioral supports, evidence based practices in education and the integration of Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Support Plans into the SCM curriculum.

Direct Staff Training - On-site - 2 days

Safe Crisis Management Instructors provide a comprehensive in-service training program that provides the tools needed to create a safe and positive learning environment for both the student and staff.  The training includes prevention, intervention and post intervention strategies focusing on promoting positive growth and behavior, understanding today’s students, understanding and identifying behaviors of concern and responding to behaviors of concern.  In addition, the training teaches how to conduct functional assessments, create behavior support plans, use emergency safety interventions and conduct
follow-up procedures.
On-site or Public Seminar - 5 days

The SCM Certification training is a rigorous 5-day training where participants are certified to teach the entire Safe Crisis Management curriculum to their staff as well as the in-service training described above.  Successful completion of the program is contingent upon passing both a written test and a physical skills test.  Participants will receive an Instructor’s Manual that provides a model curriculum for SCM Staff Training, which contains lesson plans, handouts and activities for each concept presented in the SCM Participant’s Workbook.  Participants also receive the SCM Staff Training Slideshow and SCM Physical Interventions Video.

Safe Crisis Management training instructors ensure participant competency through a testing process which is required for successful completion of the training and scores are maintained.  JKM Training Staff provide SCM training instructors with an Instructor’s Manual that provides a model curriculum for SCM Staff Training which contains lesson plans, handouts and activities for each concept, The SCM Participant’s Workbook, as well as a CD Rom which includes the SCM Staff Training Slideshow and SCM Physical Interventions Video. In addition, participants will be granted access to our instructor’s website which contains files to download such as: slideshows, training agendas, case studies, various templates, handouts, sample tests and much more.
