The document also provides a summary of federal activity related to restraint and seclusion intervention, a summary of federal agency efforts to address concerns and an extended resource section. The 15 principles are consistent with existing professional standards. Safe Crisis Management is congruent with all principles. Recent News on "Excited Delirium Syndrome"

"This report constitutes the proceedings of a meeting of a special panel convened by the Weapons and Protective Systems Technologies Center (WPSTC) to examine the subject of Excited Delirium Syndrome (ExDS) and the interventions being cooperatively developed by the law enforcement and medical communities. The purpose of the meeting was to examine the phenomenon of “excited delirium” and its association with the use-of-force in general and the use of CEDs in particular. Additionally, the panel examined related medical and other first responder protocols. This report is the result of an NIJ-funded project but was not published by the U.S. Department of Justice."
